An artist was suffering from fatigue while painting after some loss of muscle strength from surgery on her arm for cancer treatment.
In order to overcome this strain, I developed an sling to elevate the arm in a flexible way. This sling lifts the arm, using a weight and pulleys, to overcome the force needed to keep the arm in an upright position to paint with.
The design also allows for movement with a boom arm with a flexible joint which can be positioned over the canvas and easel.
